HEPPELL in Quebec.
Heppell
in Quebec, are for the very great majority natives of
St-Anaclet, a small community
near Rimouski on the lower south shore of the St-Lawrence River. Originally, St-Anaclet was part
of the town of Rimouski. It became a parish in 1859 and finally a separate municipality.
The name Heppell is more and more numerous through the Province of Quebec.
We find many Heppell in Montreal. Some of them are the descendants of Napoleon Heppell and Mathilde Leroux
who settled in the City in the 1880's. More recently, others came from Causapscal and are the
descendants of Elzéar Heppell and Jeanne Morin.
Presents researches are in progress to complete an inventory of these Heppell.
